4100 Ford axle bolt

Make it work

New User
High guys my first time here. My question is on my mind 60s Ford 4100. The left side axle seal was leaking to the point it really needed replacing
No problem I got new seals and tore apart left side axle housing, got down to the axle shaft bolt that goes through the planetary gears and three days later it still isn't loose. I have tried every air gun around, started with 1/2" drive breaker bars and broke them . Now I am on 3/4" everything still with no luck. heated and then tried freezing the bolt. I have the axle assy on blocks and the rear is tied down with a chain fall to the cherry picker legs, now it's starting to pick up the whole cherry picker. I have tried turning bolt both directions in case of right hand threads all to no avail .Does any one knows if the bolt is left or right hand thread for sure? Any info would be great ,thanks in advance.

That axle retaining bolt is factory torqued at 440 lb ft so the average 1/2" air gun won t shake it
Did you make sure to remove the lock plate that prevents the bolt from turning

Thanks Destroyed 450 for the info, is the bolt left or right hand thread? I have looked and looked but I haven't seen any type of lock plate on the bolt.
