JD 50 Exhaust Manifold

Got a problem (see pic). Wondering if I should try JB Weld to fix? Or something else?

They are notorious for breaking. The ideal something else would be a new manifold. That can turn into quite a project. That crack is in the exhaust side of the manifold, so although annoying it shouldn't affect the performance of the tractor too much like it would on the intake side. JB weld isn't going to fix that problem, but it isn't going to hurt anything either. If you wanted to try it as a temporary solution, give it a shot.

I will stay away from the new manifold. I believe it leads to alcohol.

Changing to LP manifolds will eliminate the heat exchanger rusting out .

Brazing might work. Had a guy do it on my A head to build up where the gasket blew out and eroded the area around the exhaust port and I brazed a broken off tab on a Buda manifold.

Did not think of brazing. Might work great. But not in my skill set...
