Ended up making a new stud to replace the one that burnt up crimped new wires on . The wires to the solenoid are 14 gauge . Good chance to try out my new wire strippers .

Just under 3$ and some time on the ol service truck
workbench and that thing spins the tractor like brand
new . I sent a letter to db electrical inquiring about a
new solenoid . I suspect the reply to go something like
this dear sir we are sorry to inform you that parts for
these starters arent not available. They are only 125$
so I dont expect much . The starters are a pretty good
design really simple if they just spend another 5$ on
making a few things a little heavier they would be really
something .

I wanted to rebuild the starter on my 9n. I called dad's old supplier and was told the forgien made starters are so cheap they don't mess with rebuilding Ford starters.

After searching eBay I found everything I needed.

I was able to find what I needed at the local hardware store thankfully. They definitely make these starters cheap but Ive breathed new life into the thing for awhile . Not sure if Ill buy another one of these or go a different route next time theres another gear reduction starter thats more money but it looks like higher quality not sure if there is any parts available for it or not either
