TO20 rebuild kit

I purchased a TO20 that is in need of some love sort of as a
learning experience for myself. Never done a full engine rebuild
but here we go.

Anyway Ive been looking for a engine rebuild kit and everyone
Im finding is a overbore kit. Now is it possible to find a
standard bore? I assume overbore means I would have to have
the block bored out at a machine shop or does it mean its just a
thinner cylinder sleeve with a thicker piston?

A full engine rebuild requires taking the block, head and crank to the automotive machine shop for thorough cleaning and evaluation. You can't possibly know what you need before that. Once you have the evaluation you can ask them to order the needed parts for you. Getting the parts from them lets you be sure that everything will go together. Most likely they will save you money as well.

The engine has wet sleeves that just sit in the block, held in by the head.

The bigger bore means the sleeves are fitted with larger than original pistons, but the sleeves fit a standard block.

You will be better off to disassemble, inspect, measure, then buy what you need instead of a kit.

Check the block carefully, those are known for cracking on the underside between the bore webs.

A shop manual in hand will be a valuable investment!
