HG 42 Backfire

Hey everyone .. my HG sat for a while and now its backfiring under load I rebuilt the carb and a little change but nothing major could bad plugs, wires, points, etc cause it? Just trying to get some ideas together before I jump on it on my day off

Please remember when posting here your machine is not the only one being discussed on these forums so a more in-depth identification is appreciated. By searching I found you must be talking about a Cletrac. Sticking valve or bent push rod likely caused by a sticking valve will cause this. A compression test may reveal this but pulling the valve cover an looking is the most definite approach.

My OC-3 would do this occasionally. It was the coil in the magneto every time. It would run perfectly until the first hint of a load, then start missing, backfiring, etc. Just another thing to check.
