3020 transmission help

Hello Schmidee welcome YT! By just looking up the
part numbers they are different 3020-R33512 for
3010-R26256 this does not mean they will not
interchange but I will say it is unlikely. Hopefully
someone more familiar with these machines will come
along and give a definite yes or no. Maybe you can see
by my handle I am more of an IH guy, but I have played
with a few Deeres along the way. I looked up the
numbers on the JD online parts book I have added in
the 1st link. When you want to go to a different model
or machine click the black bar that says ..New Parts
Search.. Also for future information this forum has a
topic section specific to John Deere so if you have
more questions on Deeres that is your go to place, 2nd
link.

Got to check the reverse gear for sure, as they changed the gear. And when this gear is replaced, so is a gear on the mainshaft and the countershaft(complete teardown).

3010 and 3020 share very few parts. I am not as familiar with the 3010, but I know for a fact the difference between 4010 and 4020 s and I would expect there to be similar changes to the 3010/3020. The trans area is an inch longer on a 4020 compared to a 4010, made more room for wider gears. Ring/pinion ratio changed and final drive ratio also changed, took some load off trans and moved it to the final drive. PTO reduction setup moved from center of tractor to the rear area.

Short version the top shafts are not the same.
