TDC on MT372d

Hi All,

I need to do a valve clearance check/adjustment on my Mitsubishi MT372d (engine KE70) but I'm not sure how to find top dead center. I looked online and found most people saying to align the marks on the crank but I can't seem to see any on mine. Has anyone here done it before on this engine? Is there an easy way? Any help would be appreciated!

To set the valves on that little 2 cylinder you do not
need to find TDC. Watch the valves as you turn the
engine. When a valve closes turn the crankshaft an
additional half a turn at that point adjust the valve.
Repeat that to set the other three valves.

With only 4 valves to adjust, it's easy enough to put the feeler gauge in and slowly turn the engine, finding the loosest point, and setting it there. Turn it through a few times to be sure you are at the loosest point.

Some of those small engines have a centrifugal compression release that can interfere with the TDC method.
