Cross tie rod cylinder leaks

I have a Cross 027556 3 X 8 tie rod cylinder that leaks between the body and the end cap. All four tie rods are tight. Is it just a simple o-ring that makes the seal ?
Thanks
Greg

Yes.

Also, check that the tie rods are evenly tight. It is feasible you could tighten one side down too hard and cock the end cap enough to leak past the o-ring. But its probably just an old, brittle or broke o-ring. Pretty easy fix if you are careful pulling the cap past the end of the rod, and not destroying the rod seals. steve

If the cylinder sits out in the weather a lot, you could have rust pits in the inside of the bore where the end o-ring seals to the bore. You'll find the problem by just taking the nuts off and sliding the end up the rod.
