Allis Chalmers Model G hydraulic pump lever

On my Dads Allis Chalmers model G is a hydraulic pump bolted to the transmission. It has two levers on the top. One is for the hydraulic pressure and has linkage to a handle.
The other is to shift the pump gears in and out but has no linkage. I have not seen any linkage on other Model G's with this pump. Did they originally have a linkage and handle or were they always just the lever on top of the pump?

The link below will take you to a site (it is safe to use) that has pdf copies of several original G manuals, including one on G hydraulics and lift equipment. You can download and save them at no cost.

Thanks Much ! I looked at the site and they have the Hydraulic Manual so I will make a donation and download it. Looking through it I did not see anything about the "Shift Lever" linkage or if you are supposed to run the tractor all the time with the pump in gear or only put the pump in gear when using the implements ? Thanks Again !

I don't know as I never had a G. There are several G manuals there. Did you download and review all of them, not just the hydraulic one? The answer you are looking for may be in one of the other manuals. You could try posting on the Allis Chalmers Forum, someone there might not review this forum regularly.

The G pump didnt come with a lever setup for shifting the pump, lots of them have been added by owners later
