Ferguson 35, Ole Red started!!

Hello Gang,
The clicking solenoid issue i was having was resolved by replacing the neutral safety switch! The tractor started but it is blowing inline fuses.I have a 30 amp fuse inline, with 10 gauge wire. I'm wondering if the push button, key switch and neutral safety switch wiring job is my problem.
This is how I have it wired:
1. key switch (I)terminal to starter button
2. starter button to neutral switch
3. neutral switch to small post on solenoid.
I also have the coil wire and volt meter connected to the key switch(I) terminal.
What does it mean when the fuses blow?
Thank you!
Shawn and Ole Red

Fuses blow when:

The circuit is overloaded:
But your wiring sounds correct, and it did
start. Nothing there that would overload a 30a circuit.

There can be a bad connection at the fuse holder:
But usually when that happens the fuse will melt in the end, not blow in
the middle.

There is an intermittent short to ground:
The most common cause, look for burned, pinched, abraded, mouse chewed
wire shorting to ground. That will blow a fuse instantly!

One thing to check, does this have the original generator or has it been
converted to an alternator? If it's an alternator, is it charging through
the 30a fused circuit? That would overload it, as most alternators are
capable of making more than 30 amps.

Thank you Steve for the information.
The inline fuse and holder is from battery positive post to key switch. The one wire alternator 10g wire connects directly to battery positive post without an inline fuse.
Based on what I posted earlier does it sound as if i've wired the key switch, button and Neutral safety switch properly?
Ill try to send a drawn schematic of how I've wired the tractor.
Thanks again!
Shawn

When do you experience the fuse blowing? By your
description of the fuses location the tractor should die
immediately when the fuse blows. If I remember
correctly the Massey 65 we had used a position on the
ignition switch to turn on the lights. Is yours set up
that way? If so is there maybe a short in the lighting
wires if they are connected? How about the voltage
regulator and wiring for the original generator and
regulator is that all disconnected?
Edit for small correction.

Hi Steve,
Yes the engine shuts off immediately when the fuse blows. I don't have lights hooked up but will install a work light. Should i put the inline fuse on that wire? When i installed the alternator i removed the voltage regulator. All the wire are new. Speaking of wires... does it matter if the key switch, push button and neutral safety switch are 10 gauge when most of the diagrams show 14-16 gauge?
Thanks a bunch for the help!
Shawn

That wiring looks fine to me. And the fuse you are
speaking about must be in the wire you show as a red
dashed line between the battery and ignition switch.
Something has to be shorting ..contacting a ground..
and blowing the fuse. You should just double check all
wiring just to make sure it is not rubbing through the
insulation some where. Wiring wiggling with a bit of
tension on it over s sharp edge will quickly wear
through. Maybe you might try unhooking your volt
meter just to see if there is a problem is in it.

Hello Steve,
Yeah we got Ole Red started and it didn't blow the fuse!
I think the key switch was the problem.
Thank you again for all of your help!!
