I have an engine oil leak on the right side of the engine below the manifold (see photos). Is this possibly a worn gasket under the head? How much time/cost will this take to repair? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing to worry about there. That is not a leak. Its just a bit of oil seepage from the head gasket. Perfectly normal. Not worth replacing the head gasket over that. But if u want to u can to spend some money.

Everything looks fresh, has the head recently been off?

Was it retorqued after the initial startup? If not it should have been, not too late.

If it has not been apart, it is normal to have some minor seepage like that, not enough to warrant a repair in my opinion. Those old engines were not designed to be perfectly sealed and clean.

The head has not been off to my knowledge. I recently obtained this tractor. I believe the only work on this tractor the previous owner performed was a paint job. I've been fixing numerous hydraulic leaks and this one showed up.

With the engine running and warmed up its a steady seep that runs down the block and drips. Is there a quick fix beside gasket replacement or retorquing the bolts?

Running down is a little more serious.

There is probably an oil galley there that feeds the rockers, but not sure. Someone on the IH board would know.

No quick fix other than replacing the head gasket.

Having a shop manual in hand first will be a great investment!

Must be condensed combustion products oozing out past the head gasket, as the camshaft, and therefore the upward passage for rocker arm oiling is on the other side.

To the O.P., it would certainly be worth a try to re-torque the headbolts. The valve clearances will need to be checked after that and adjusted as needed.
