1970's IH 434 PTO shaft issue

I hit a rock with my bush hog and broke the shear pin. The PTO driveline went flying around, then I noticed the PTO seal was leaking on the tractor and it looks like shaft has moved out (about 1/2 inch). Any thoughts how to get the shaft back in and replace the seal. Thanks in advance

Sounds like something broke inside the gear box.

Best take it apart and see what's happened before trying to run it again.

If it's bad inside, generic replacement gear boxes are available.

I think Steve misunderstood thinking it was the mower
gear box. Is your PTO live? I would suggest you post
this on the IH topic section, see link. Not a lot of
viewing on this section.
