8N brake cam repair

The ball on the end of the cam is about half way rusted away. I am leaning to build up with weld and grind back as close to original as I can.

Weld and grind? Any other suggestions?

Hello G welcome to YT! Hey I am an IH guy but here
goes anyway. Looks like there are some used ones
available but they get pretty good money for them,
8N2246 Rt. & -47 Lt. So web search those numbers if
you want to test those waters. If it was assembled and
rusted like than I suppose the socket is not perfect
either, so I would probably go with what you said weld
and grind. Just FYI, this topic section does not get a
lot of traffic. In the future post your questions about
your tractor on the Ford topic section, that is where
the in the know Ford guys hang out, see link.

I'd look for some good used ones but again location is a big thing. I bet I have some but I'm in Missouri

Thanks for all the info everyone.

I welded and ground and it came out OK, New bushing in the tractor housing and it is good to go. Thanks again.

I was wondering why my picture wouldn't post. Maybe I will add one later just for reference.
