I bought this sediment bowl , not sure where but it lasted a few years, not like original.
I had difficulty shutting off ,difficult if I did feel a lot to force to open with leaks .
So I file the thumb tab off .
Took these photos . You can see this design .
I say it made with the thread s out of tolerance for the oil ring to seal with the metal seal on
Thread portion cut oring.

I know speco that I have is the same .
I had to post this cause I wasted so much gas with this leaking , dangerous leaking all the time .
Dont know what to do to , I think all new ones are same design . Am I wrong ?

The O ring was a packing washer when the thing was invented. Someone decided the O ring was better, its not

Can you take it apart, chuck it in a drill and file off the threads so they don't extend past the end of the fitting?

The quality of those sediment filters has declined to the point some are substituting them with a brass ball valve.

You can solder a brass screen into the inlet fitting standing inside the tank to catch the chunks and get up off the bottom of the tank. It really doesn't need the bowl to collect water if you are running E10. The ethanol will absorb the water.

Originals had a waxed packing string, not an o ring.
threads don't matter in this case. I made a new packing string taken from a dog food bag.
Run the string through a candle to wax it, wrap and cut off excess. Tighten and you should be good to go
