MF 135 hydraulic issue

Hi, just joined the forum today and looking for some help with my 135 hydraulics. With the restoration nearing completion, I went to try the hydraulics. My shop manual says that if work has been carried out on the hydraulics then valve synchronisation should be carried out. I had replaced the shaft bushes and the quadrant so with the tractor at idle, quadrant inner lever at transport and the outer lever at mid point between the two sector marks, to move the control lever forward to depress the pick up arms. When I moved the control lever forward there was a very loud bang. I switched the tractor off and saw straight away that two studs for the hydraulic cylinder had sheared and another nut was split. With the lift cover removed I could see that the cylinder was not flush with lift cover surface. What have I done wrong ?? Any help would be most appreciated.

Not familiar with that exact setup, but I see 2 problems.

The control valve monitors the position of the quadrant shaft and stops the cylinder from lifting it too far. Evidently this didn't happen and it continued to lift when it was out of travel.

The other problem, seems the pressure relief valve did not catch the over pressure for some reason. Could be stuck, wrong valve,???.

Again, I'm just using basic assumptions. Might get more specific answers on the MF board below.

Hi Steve, thanks for your thoughts. I will look at the pressure relief valve in due course. Meanwhile if you have more ideas then please let me know. It?s much appreciated.
