730 loader leaking from hydraulic pump

I haven?t pulled the pump, but it seems to be leaking from where the shaft goes into the pump. I?ve looked around and can?t find much in the way of a schematic to figure out what deal needs to get replaced. I?d rather wait to have the parts ready before I pull the pump as I won?t be able to move the tractor till it?s fixed. I have. 1969 Ford 2000 with a 730 loader. Thanks!

That can be a hard one. I you know the brand and model of the pump then maybe and only maybe you can find a seal before opening it up. But on the other hand some pumps are not made to be serviced an the only fix is to replace it. I know years ago when I had a pump going bad the cost to rebuild it was more then it cost to just replace it. If it where me I would be likely to pull the pump open it up and see if there is a seal and remove the seal and go to the parts store with seal and pump part the seal goes in with me. Did that on a finish mower not long ago

JD parts?? Isn't that a John Deere parts place?? He said he has a Ford 2000 which means he probably has a crank shaft driven pump out front of the engine and those pumps can be Vickers or Prince or a few other brands

It looks like New Holland has a site for their (including Ford) parts books on line. Search New Holland agricultural parts catalogs on line.
