Does any one know if there is a o ring or some sort of seal where the oil pickup goes into the oil pump is it just held by the cotter pin

There is no O-ring per the parts manual, but I have used an O-ring in an attempt to reduce the opportunity to draw air into the oil stream.

I can't get any oil pressure to the gauge put a new line on thinking it was plugged. Left the gauge off still no oil I have checked the oil bypass plug and it seems fine took the oil pump out and spun it in a bucket of oil pumps fine. Any ideas ?

Perhaps it is a stupid question, but is the pump turning? Maybe the drive gear is stripped.

No everything is good with the gear and pin that hold's it in place i started it with the pressure relief
valve out and it promptly pumped about a quart of oil out
