Ford 730 Return Line

I'm replacing the control valve on a Ford 2000 with a 730 Loader. Old control valve has a pipe coming out of the frame, into a threaded T, and up to a hole in the mounting plate. The new control valve has a pressure relief valve built in, and a threaded 3/4" outlet. I routed the outlet to the threaded T that comes out of the frame, but the pipe is still open at the mount. How can I seal it off? I thought about cutting the pipe off short of the mounting plate and welding a cap to it, but I don't want to get metal shavings into the fluid. I also thought of using something like you'd see for a boat drain plug. Is the pressure on the return side a lot? Any help is appreciated

I found this thread, there's pictures of what I'm talking about on there.
