Help! I have a Ford 2000 with a Freeman 3000 loader. The loaders hydraulic resevoir just started heating up to the point where I believe the fluid is boiling. I need advise on what could be causing it and how to fix. I believe the system has air and maybe too much fluid. About 10 months ago, one of the hoses blew for no apparent reason. I fixed ot and didn't use it for a long time. Lift is moving extremely slowly. I cannot find a manual to tell me anything about it. Any and all help is appreciated.

Heating in an "open center" system can commonly be caused by one of the hand lever valves not returning exactly to center.

Do both move freely and "feel" normal/like they are centering when released?

What hydraulic fluid are you using/did it seem to mix OK with what was in there?

As to air, it should be "self-bleeding" as the functions are operated.

Do you know how to check the oil level? I am NOT familiar with your "Freeman", on similar "Davis" loaders that I am familiar with, there's a little oil level check plug partway up the side if the side of the combined loader frame/tank.

Lastly, is there a filter canister in the system, and have you looked inside/changed the filter?
