Installing new fuel guage

I am replacing the 6v. fuel guage and sender on my "new to me" Ford 4000. When I received the new guage from Yesterday's Tractor Co., it has 3 terminals, 1 marked with B, 1 marked with T and 1 unmarked. I received no installation guide with it. Can anyone tell me which wire goes to each terminal.
TIA

attery, Tank, and either ground or light.

Thank you very much. I'm assuming the non marked would be the ground, there is a fourth terminal that has a light already installed.

Installed sending unit and gauge. B terminal to 6v pos grnd, T terminal to the tank and hot wire to light. Started it up and the gauge is pegged on E, when I unhook the wire from gauge it floats up from E just a little. I removed the sending unit from the tank and moved it manually, the gauge did not move!! Could something be hooked backwards?

hen you removed it from tank and operated it, did you have a ground wire attached to it? You need to. Next, did you buy gauge & sender as a set? Some gauges & senders are not compatible.

When I removed it from the tank, I grounded it to the tank. I bought it from yesterdaystractors.com and they recommended the gauge and sender as compatible.

n my experience, for what that is worth?, if you alternately ground & open circuit the wire from sender to gauge, the gauge will move between full & empty.

Very simple

B is battery
T is tank (sending unit)
The unmarked one is ground. If you look close, I think you will see it is marked with the ground symbol.
