I have a Deutz 4506, I had to replace the battery back in the fall and since I replaced it when I put the key and turn it on everything lights up. When you pull back to crank it everything goes dark. Any suggestions on what I may be dealing with here, just trying to get some advice before I start buying parts

That is a typical symptom of a high resistance connection, like a dirty or loose battery cable, loose ground, bad cable, etc., or a partially discharged/bad battery.

First, look the major connections over closely. Be sure the cables are tight, the connections appear good. If anything appears to have been over heating, or you see smoke when trying to start, or feel heat in any connection, that is likely the problem area.

For further tests, you'll need a test light or volt meter.

Start with the light/meter leads directly across the battery posts. Take a reading while an assistant holds the starter switch. If the reading drops at the battery itself, the battery is discharged or bad. If the reading stays good, move one test lead at a time, repeating the test until you find where the reading drops.

Just be careful, the engine could crank at any time during the tests.
