Posted this over in the Tractor tales section but thought it might be better here:
Interesting issue with my F-150. When I'm driving around and the engine is cold, I hit the brake to slow down and she won't drop to idle. Engine won't drop down until I'm almost stopped (below 15) and then it'll hold idle fine. Doesn't seem to run rough at idle, but I'm having to hit the brake harder to get it to slow down at higher RPM so when it does drop it's like im braking pretty hard. Sometimes it'll drop back up and down a few times before it will idle. It has only stalled on me once--I was in a parking deck, put it in reverse, and let off the brake at the same time it was trying to idle and it killed it.
Other occasional issue is when I'm parked after driving it'll sometimes start hopping between 1300 RPM and idle. I give it a little gas and that'll reset it or if i'm at a stoplight and it does it then I go forwards a tad and that fixes it.
Anybody got any idea what's going on? The mechanic we normally have fix it isn't available and I'm wondering if it's something I can fix. Quick google search suggested might be IAC?
Thoughts?
