DB885 wiring harness-state side source

1978 David Brown 885 diesel. After pulling the fuel tank, seeing what is left of the factory harness and now understanding why nothing works, I am left wondering how the thing hadn't caught fire. I need a wire harness. Every source found so far has been in the U.K.. Is there a U.S. source?

Will be needing all the idiot lights, headlight switch, horn button and probably some stuff I'm not yet aware of.

Scott, let me look and see if I have any extra wiring harness. Do you need just the dash or everything including the engine?

Just a thought. Have you tried CaseIH? I've got a hunch if they could get it though,it'd be cheaper to pay the shipping and get it from David Brown Parts Ltd in the UK.

Hi Arlen, I need it all. Can't imagine just what took place for someone to think cutting all the wiring to the rear lights and idiot lights was good idea. The engine harness has had the connector cut off and spliced back on. Light switch is gone, idiot lights are gone. Tractor had a turn signal switch, it's gone too. Had the starter solenoid wire plugged onto the the thermostart lug on the ignition switch. Thermostart wire was wrapped around a hose. Starter solenoid wire is devoid of most insulation, lucky no fire! The starter worked if you didn't turn the key too far and that's it. None of the gauges do. So yes, I need it all.

What are the odds of finding a harness to match the tractor? There are a dozen or so possibilities shown in the manual.

Not yet. Have just started on the wiring. Found what may only be state side phone/email for two vendors and contacted both. Will see what I hear back.

Scott. no luck on a harness with flashers. Might also look at the 990-995 harness. Had to use one of those in an 885 a couple years ago.

Flasher wiring is the same as 990-995-996. Dash is 885 all. Taillights depend on which fenders you have. Will do some digging tomorrow.

Everything. The engine harness has been cut on the engine side of the connector. The dash side had been cut and spiced back together. While the tractor had turn signals I don't see a need for them given it will never see road use. I would like to see the idiot lights work as well as a rear flood, head lights and dash lights.

If a suitable connector can be sourced to allow splitting the wiring when splitting the tractor (like the original connector) I may just wire the thing myself.

Scott, I have a wiring harness for the dash. Part #948449. Has an ign switch but nothing else. Guages can be purchased locally. Horn button just use a marine grade for a boat. Are the 3 lights still in your dash? My e-mail is open.
