You asked, "What is the part number for the idler gear bushing? I do not remember seeing it in the parts book just the gear assembly."

The idler gear bushing is not sold separately, but I noticed that the idler gear shaft is the same outside diameter as the pump drive shaft. The bushings are available for the pump shaft. I can't figure out the outside diameter of the idler gear bushing, but it "appears" to be the same as the pump shaft bushings. Length of bushing might be an issue. Something you might check out if you're dealing with a worn idler gear bushing and everything else is usable.

Thanks!! I have not measured the shaft or bushing yet, but was going to make a notation in my parts book if there was a part number. I might grab one of the bushings you are talking about and see how it matches up. If it is long it is easy enough to shorten up in the lathe.
Thanks

I see in the parts book that there are two bushings in the idler gear.

The JD Parts website shows the a4130r bushing to have an ID of 1.003" - an OD of 1.124" - a length of 1.000"

Here's a copy of the specs from the JD 50 Service Manual - it shows shaft and bushing measurements.

Also - if you ever have the governor case off of the tractor, it's pretty easy to add an oil supply to that idler shaft. I guess you could drill and tap it on the tractor, but I'm too clumsy to try it.
