ford 5000 stuck

ford 5000 automatic stuck.removed head pistons cleaned up sprayed with pb blaster.letting soak.any easy tips for oil pan removal or internal cleanup before I go that far ?
 

You don't remove the front axle. What you do is remove two of the bolts that hold the bolster to the block, and replace them with two that are some four-six inches longer. Then you remove the bolts into the pan, then slide the bolster-axle assembly ahead on the long bolts. Then you get your floor jack under the pan and remove the small bolts into the block, then very carefully lower the pan. You want to put some thought into where you put the jack under the pan in order to get it close to balanced.
 

That works on the 3 cylinder models but 5000 axle has a yoke that pins to the oil pan. I've never been able to get the yoke to pivot down enough to clear the tabs on the pan without removing the axles main pivot pin.

If there's a easier way I'd like to know, I need to drop the pan on my 5000 to repair a noisy counterbalancer.

I just went and looked at some pics on tractor house. I can see that if it is a 5000 utility the yoke is attached to the oil pan, but if it is a 5200 row crop, the yoke attaches only to the bolster, same as my 9000. So it depends on which 5000 it is.
 

Agreed, 5200 row crop is different, helped my brother rebuild one of his, that's why I though it would be a easy job working on the counter balancer until I crawled under my 5000 and said WTH.

OP never said which version of the 5000 he had.
