8N Steering Wheel Repair

Hi All,

I bought a working '49 8N a few weeks ago and am starting to make a few repairs. Is the steering wheel pictured below worth saving? I can repair the cracked cover with epoxy filler but the area that is completely missing would be a challenge to build up from nothing.

That would be your call, myself, I have a lot more important stuff to do than to spend days
repairing something I can replace for 40 bucks, If you think you want to keep the tractor
all original, fix it. I put a new steering wheel on everything I restore.

my 3020 had 1.5 inch chunks gone in diff. places.. Used J.B. Weld. formed best I could then rasp, sand to form and
paint.. Worked well.. Depends how much work you want to do..compared to buy new..

Thanks for the comments guys. I think I might try to fix the rim cover with JB Weld epoxy putty since I have a good bit left over from some window repair work. I don't plan to restore the tractor so a brand new wheel might look out of place. My ultimate goal is to clean it up, tune it up, fix what's broken, and use it. I have learned a bunch from this forum already and appreciate the resource.

my new wheel is the same as the original. paid 39 bucks with free shipping. by the looks of that wheel, you could spend more than that on epoxy, etc.
