How do I undo this...?

I'd be really grateful if anyone could tell me how this pin comes out. It is locked solid so will take a lot of force to move it. I just want to make sure I am applying the right force in the right direction...

I've tried hitting with big hammer from the left, and tried inserting a square bar on the bolt thing on the right and tapping anti-clockwise.....Nothing budges

The pin is straight despite how the second photo looks

Many Thanks in advance

It's probably just rusted in. Soak it with some penetrating oil and drive it both directions. Unless it's bent it will eventually get loose enough you can just pull it out with your fingers.

Thanks for the response, so the castellated nut on RHS stays in
place, and the pin should simply slide out with a bit of persuading....?

I assume the castellated nut has a thread on its outer face and should be able to be unscrewed too...?

Thanks

I would start with a lot of penetrating oil, let it soak as long as practical, keep wetting it down.

Then clean up the left end with some emory cloth, try to drive it back in as far as it will go. If it will ever move, it will start getting easier.

Then grind a good size chamfer on the small end, clean as much as you can with the emory cloth. The chamfer will help prevent mushrooming the end while it is driven out.

Thanks Guys

Finally got it out, used a bench vice and cheater bar balanced on back of tractor!

With it apart easy to see the problem, the two distances marked are different, so when the ball joint sits on the shoulder of the yoke the holes don't align.

Previous owner just smashed the pin in anyway, till it jammed solid...
