All it's been years since this tractor has run. There is some good news the case fluids are the right colors and when it was running the gas was run dry.
Any pointers on where to start to bring it back to life?

Restoring or just fixing up?? To restore one you need to bring it back to factory spec. I hate the term restore because most just throw a paint job on and call it restored which it is not.
One that has sat for years the best thing to do first if fill the cylinders with ATF and be sure to put the plugs back in and let it sit a few days. Doing that frees up the rings and valve. Then after a few day pull the plugs out and spin it over to clear the cylinders and yes it will make a mess but it is worth it

I my book the first step, would be to get it running. Second, drain and replace the fluids to remove water dirt etc. Third, use the tractor for a while to determine what mechanical repairs may be needed. Mechanical repairs can be made without regard to fancy paint etc.

Once you know what you got you can better plan how "you want" to proceed. For example you would not want to have to split the tractor for repairs after you spent time and money to paint it.

I have two 8Ns which are used for work. I restore my tractors to working condition and paint is a low priority. However, there are many ways to bring a tractor back...all better than the scrap yard.
