I need my power steering box rebuilt on my To35 SMG # 181162 1958 tractor. I tested the pump pressure and
was around 900 psi, which is a little low. Book says 1100 psi.I works a little but looses fluid some where?
Not in oil pan.Think it leaks into transmission.I would like to remove the whole unit & ship it off to get
rebuilt. Any ideas appreciated.

How much are you loosing?

If a manageable amount, try some Lucas PS treatment. I put it in my TO35, slowed the leak to about once a year top off.

That steering gear is rebuildable. Not a pleasant job, but doable with the book and some patience. Having it done will be pricey!

I loose all the fluid after about one hour of use,and the steering is very hard to turn. I have the groove tires on the front, and think that may be some of the problem.I had the engine and clutch rebuilt several years ago.So I like the tractor,it has a front end loader bucket also that probally makes it harder to steer.
