Oil leak?

To replace a front crankshaft seal on a Cockshutt 30, does one have to pull the engine? Oil coming from somewhere and not sure the source? Thanks. Koy

The seal is installed from the inside of the front cover. I have taken the pulley off and put a Speedi-Sleeve on it. Didn't help much because the crank was way loose. Probably have to pull the engine. The front engine mount is on the front cover.

Thanks, Mike for the info. Engine is fairly new! After looking more carefully, maybe it is the steering sector box? Have to check the manual here
