Thank you, that is my spare time......its a hobby I get paid to do, none of them are mine. Ive done 7 so far, and still wanting to improve.

Where are you located? Periodically someone posts here asking for someone to restore a tractor. Could be more work for your boss's shop.

Beautiful work!! What paint was used on the Oliver and Farmall?
I have a 77 and Super A I plan on doing this coming year.

Thank you and the 560 was factory paint from the dealer and the Oliver is Ag Specialty coatings paint, both was used with hardener, I think Val spar makes the paint for JD and Case/Ih, they both spray almost identical. The Ag Specialty lays real nice as well and covers great. On the Oliver the only parts I buffed was the hood and rear side panels due to some trash that got in the paint, all the rest of it is how it laid. I also included a few under hood shots.

Thank you I try to always to improve from the last and the small details at times show the best like the model plate on the Oliver.....On the 560 I painted the IH logo on the block, and even painted a home made bracket on the engine to blend in so its not as noticeable.

I do have a question for everyone, for the pics shown what kind of cost would some of you be willing to pay at least in labor due to every tractor has different needs for parts, work...ect The reason Im asking is if Im to cheap, to expensive or about right....I dont work on the resto everyday average turn around is 5-8 months. Maybe some pros could chip in as well, as what the charge for costs.

Brian ,please send me your email I'm finishing up the mechanicals on a '71 4020 ps and am looking for someone to make the outside match the inside. I live west of Audubon. My email is open.

good evening who-knos" very nice restorations, it is evident in looking at the pictures that you take pride in your work, and enjoy restoring old tractors, looking at the fit and finish of your work says a lot about the man who did it. I often hear the words "that's good enough" from so called tradesmen and there work reflects that attitude! if you keep up the standard of work I see here you will never be out of work. don't be afraid to charge a fair rate for your labour, parts are usually charged out at 30% for you to see a 30% profit on your parts the multiple is 1.47 x your full cost, including taxes, shipping, (duty, brokerage fees, etc if your importing parts) your labour is going to cover a lot of running costs, power, water, phone, rent. shop consumables ie rags, sprays, cleaners, soaps, sandpaper, can be billed out as either shop supplies or rolled into the painting part of your quote. oh and don't forget to pay who_knos. I own and operate a welder repair shop for the last 25 years and I'm still learning on the work and business side both. good luck and merry Christmas. john
