Electric Motor Help!!!

Today after school i'm going to be working on a crop dryer. the motor moves freely but there's no capacitors for starting or running. How can i find which wires are the starter and run capacitors? there are 6 wires total. Any way to figure it out?

Thank You,
Bryce

You don't give much to go on but often when a single phase motor won't start it is often due to a bad start winding switch. They have solid state switches now that last forever.

Wow that gives us lots to go by. If you want answers you will have to give us some info. Better yet call and hire a competent contractor before somebody is injured, killed or the equipment ruined .
GSI does not build electric motors.

Enginegeek21, don't be discouraged by B&Ds reply. He is very knowledgeable, just a little crusty the way he comes across.

Yea, with every different brand of motor having a different wiring system nobody could answer the questions without knowing what make and model motor is under discussion.
