JD 420 install piston and rod

I have pistols with a b stamped on the top, no notch and the rods and caps have two raised dots on one side. How should their be orientated when I install the pistols ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should post this on the JD forum below. Those markings are probably manufacturer specific.

have you checked the connecting rod bearing clearance and if the journal is round ? Have you measured the bore and what is the ring gap? What torque specs on the fasteners ?Or are you just slapping it together ?
