Hello! Want to swap a Diesel 159 engine out of a late 1950's Case 300 series tractor into a late 50's Case 310B that has a G148. Is this possible? And is it a relatively easy swap?? Appreciate any wisdom and/or experience/advise. Thank-you in advance! Background: the Case 310B-H is a tractor with a frontloader/backhoe but a ruined gas 148 cu in engine. The donor is a 300 series tractor with a good 159 cu in diesel engine.

Case never made a 159 diesel. Earlier Case 300 and 300B tractors utilized a Continental diesel, but it wasn't a 159, it was a 157. The continental had adapter plates, and all the fuel lines and linkages were different, The exhaust manifold also came up thru the hood on the RH side, rather than being on the LH side outboard of the hood.
You got a L_O_T of work ahead to make that swap.
The smallest Case diesel engine was the 188, first produced in early 60s. It is a five main engine and is 1-3/8" longer so you would have length issues with the loader and hood tin. making that swap. Case did make a gas 159, but it also was the same length as the 188.
A 300RN tractor with a good Continental diesel is a very collectable tractor and worth far more than it would cost you to buy a an easy to find running 148 for.
You need to figure out what you have there and proceed accordingly.
