I have a 9n that starter is not engaging.replaced starter and bendex with no luck. Flywheel is good any ideas.

Welcome Pink1!

The most common cause for the starter to not engage is low voltage.

That type starter needs enough power to spin it hard enough to spiral the drive into the flywheel gear.

Common causes are low/bad battery, loose/dirty connections, bad solenoid, bad cable, bad ground.

If this is still 6 volt, everything must be right for it to work. It needs big cables, at least size 0, not the small cables from the auto supply.

To diagnose properly, you'll need a volt meter. Start at the battery, put the meter across the battery posts, take a reading while trying the starter. That puts the system under load, the only way to get a true reading.

If the voltage drops down around 4 volts or lower, the battery is discharged or bad. If the battery voltage remains high, start moving the volt meter leads, one at a time, until you find the drop. Hint, any connection that heats up, or shows signs of being hot, is a clue. Check grounds carefully. Be sure the ground cable is tight to bare metal, not on top of paint. Same with the starter mount, must be tight to the block for proper grounding.

Trying all those it's 12v converted have new battery starter no selinoid. 6v starter didn't work 12v doesn't either all connection and wires are new. Only thing resistor is 1 ohm not .o6

You may have a bad battery cable or the starter switch could be going bad and not letting enough amps to pass to engage the starter drive
