Grandpa?s Seized Farmall H

First-time poster and new Farmall owner here.

I recently acquired my great-grandfather?s Farmall H, which I?m told is a 1941. I have not seen it run since the early 1990?s, and know that it has been sitting outside under a tree for the past 20-sum odd years, seized up. I have yet to inspect the block to make sure it isn?t cracked, but am looking for some suggestions on what you all think my first step should be.

So far I plan to inventory all parts and start off with removing the spark plugs and filling the cylinders full of hydraulic oil (this is what my grandpa suggested before he passed) or even try some Kroil.

As far as the rest of the tractor, I?m not even sure if I want to perform a full restoration other than a functional overhaul. There?s something neat about the dents made over 60 years ago by someone so special to me.

Let me know what you think! Thanks!!

Try putting wd-40 or kroil into the cylinder. let it sit overnight and then see if it free's up. Hope your restoration goes well!!!
