Hi folks. Can the linkage inside this piece attached to the carb be dismantled? If so, what is the trick? Don't want to break anything. Thanks, Jack

This is really pretty easy. Your picture shows the tapered pin about a 1/4" above the throttle
tube. You need to first determine which is the small end of the pin. Then support the brass lever
on something solid with clearance to drive the pin out with a 3/32" punch. The shaft is a pretty
tight fit in the brass lever , so what works is to clamp the end of the lever (where the 1/4" pin
goes through), in a vise facing away, and drive out with something like a 3/16" punch.

Thanks for that. Funny how the picture shows the pin but to look at it, I didn't see a pin. After brushing it a bit, it becomes obvious. One side is almost flush (pic 1) and one side sits in a bit (pic 2). The flush side shows two indentations, the other shows just the pin and a 3/32 punch just fits. The camera brings out detail these old eyes can't see. So, if I have this right, I would punch from the side that sits in a bit toward the side that is almost flush with the two indentations. It may even be a split pin from the picture. Tapered pins are such fun. Regards, Jack
