Farmall c rear axel seal

So the seal right at the end of my axel is
leaking lots of the trans fluid. I thought
it was just a greased bearing on the end. Is
it something worse then just a new seal?

Super C has an inner and outer seal, would imagine C would also. If inner seal was good, oil wouldn't get to the outer seal.

'C' has the inner seal also which is the one that is suppose to keep the oil in. Axle housing and axle needs to be removed to access the seal. The retainer for the bull gear inside needs to be removed to remove the housing. Can get to the bull gear by removing the pto or the top cover.
The case/ih on line parts coverage will show you the breakdown if you do not have a parts book.
Some model tractors do not have the internal seal and the outer one does the job. Might be worth a try just changing the outer one and see what happens.
good luck
