safety issue

Guys and gals, if you are driving a 2010 or newer Ford Fusion, check the tie rod ends and ball joints. My son has
a 2010. On Monday he came down I80, was taking his son to football practice, pulled into the school parking lot
and the right front tie rod end came apart at the outer joint. When we put the new tie rod on, we checked the
rest of the car. The upper ball joints are shot, the inner tie rod end on the left front is shot. The car has
around 125000 miles on it. He maintains his cars well. I thought it might be an issue with his car ?but the
prayer chain notified us this afternoon-- our friend was killed this afternoon when his car had the same problem.
I think it was a 2014.

Newer cars don't come from the factory with zerk fitting on any of the tie rods or ball joints. Its not until you replace them till you will see a zerk for greasing. I remember when Ford used a open tie rod end on their F150 trucks. Would just fall apart when it wore out.
Oh the new world of maintenance free parts, gotta love it.
