I am thinking about using electrolysis on several tractor gas tanks that I've got to get them good and clean and on the shelf ready to use on a restored tractor if needed. I've got about 15 extra tanks and need to get them in shape to use or sell them. These are for the smaller Farmall tractors. My question is, if I use electrolysis to clean the dirt, rust, and debris out of the inside of the tank; do I need to do anything to keep the rust from coming back? Will it instantly rust over if I put them on the shelf for storage? I don't really care about lining all of the tanks with Red Kote but I can. What are some other good ideas and methods that will stand the test of time without using red kote after an electrolysis cleaning?
