Replacing Allis B Brakes, should I service other parts too?

I'm starting the process of replacing the brake bands on my Allis Chalmers B. This involves quite a bit of part removal (wheel, fender, seat frame, draw bar) so I'd like to service/repair anything else I can while I have the axle housing off. Is there any other service work that it would make sense to combine with this project? I think the PTO/clutch are down there somewhere right?

FWIW - The tractor is in working condition now. I've repaired the wiring, starter, hydraulics, and hitch, but those are all easily accessible. This will be the most invasive work I've done so far.

(quoted from post at 06:51:55 07/25/17) We replaced the brake bands on our B without taking the axle housing off a lot easier. Randy

Oh, I didn't realize that was possible. Below is the video I saw about how to do it. How do you get the brakes off the drum without sliding it out the housing?

To remove the brake band assembly, Remove the fender and the brake compartment cover. Remove the brake pin retainer the spring and adjusting nut. The toggle and toggle pins. Pull the brake band out bolt end first. This is copied from my IT manual. Randy

It is possible but once you remove the housing and pull the band out the big opening where you can clean out the crap you will never pull a band out the top again.

Dick L the only trouble we had was it was in the winter Cold and had to thaw the crud in the bottom of the axle housing to clean it out not very easy in Wi in the winter other wise not to bad. Randy
