I have been surfing these forums for many years so i figure I should just join so I did so here I am fellow tractor mechanics

I'm working on a john deere 2010 diesel tractor clutch i have done a few of the crawler steering and engine clutches on the MC's and 440 john deere
I have read this post on http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=348555
I have the tool used for the mc and 440 clutch I was wondering if it would work or can I use a tape measure and measure the 2-1/8 on the fingers?
I have heard 2010 clutches can be finacky when it comes to this measurement

I have always just measured. Infact I
try to get them a little different.
Makes engagement smoother. At least
..060 I think it works. I can tighten the
chain on a pulling sled like I had a
hydro. Its a 435 JD.
