Last Fall I completed an engine rebuild on a gas 544 with gear drive. I had someone else rebuild the T/A. Put it all back together, it started up and ran fine, but had no hydraulic pressure. I went
through all the obvious trouble shooting and everything was fine. It got cold out out, so I left it until Spring (This past weekend) to look at it again.
I discovered last night, that the hydraulic works, if the clutch is engaged. It seemed to get better the longer it ran (Meaning I could let up on the clutch a little) but as soon as I fully released the
clutch, the hydraulic stopped working. I cannot think of anything that could have gone back together incorrectly that would cause this, but something is wrong.
I am just praying that I do not have to split the tractor apart. PS - the PTO does not engage and I have not looked at the PTO clutches or adjustment yet. Everything else works and the transmission
will engage and move the tractor.
