some after market oil psi gauge kits have plastic lines and may brake and like oil on some tractors can catch fire best to use metal line

Yep, they been around for many years.

Horrible idea! Not only will they break, but cut, burn, blow out of the fitting...

A sure way to loose all the oil and not catch it until it is too late1

I don't know. I've had them in my jeep and tractors for the last 20 years with no problem. The gauges don't last a real long time and I normally change the lines when replacing the gauges.

Back in 1970 I had a oil pressure gauge leak on "sweethearts dance" dates gown. She was cooler about it than I could have hoped. I was so embarrassed! What a time to fail!
