Creating a new inlet filter

Made thread over in the case section of the forums but figured I should post here too. Replacing my hydraulic pump on my 930ck but both the old and new pumps inlet screens have tears in them. I tried to get a replacement but I could not. It looks like I might need to try to make my own but honestly i'm not really sure where to start. Any ideas? Has anyone ever done this before?

Not sure what yours looks like, is it a suction strainer?

I'll take a picture when I get home but its a flat circular screen that sits inside the end of the inlet and is kept in by a retaining ring. Its about 2 inches in diameter.

Buy a small piece of screen and two appropriate ss clamps at hardware store. Wrap the casting with the screen and place the clamps over the screen on each end. Make sure the clamps are positioned so they clear the bull gears.
