Ford Ferguson

Hey I've got a Ford ferguson that won't start. It ran good last summer and sat all winter. I've got clean fuel in it. I recently cleaned the carb and I have fuel to the carb. It cranks but won't fire. If I spray Either starting fluid in the air intake it runs great intil the either burns. Why would it fire on Either but not gas(yes im sure it is a gas and not a deisel engine)Any help is appreciated

As with any engine I will say check the spark and make sure you have a good blue/white spark that will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more at all the plug wires.

Then pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in under 3 minutes. Yes catch the gas to check for water/ dirt etc. If you do not have a good flow there then work your way back to where it is what it should be. If you have a good flow try starting it by holding your hand over the air intake. If it starts and then run it may have had a small clog and the hand trick cleared it up. If it does not run you should at least have a hand covered with gas and should have felt a strong suction.
Post back what you find

If you have fuel to the carb that does not mean it is getting fuel to the engine, it has to get through the carb and checking that means opening the drain plug in bottom of carb. If you get that full flow of fuel like said it could still be a float or seat sticking. And your either says it has spark so it is not getting fuel through the carb. I have a 41 9N and a 44 2N bought new in May of 44.
