Hello,

I purchased a MF25 and had to replce the battery as it was old and unable to keep a charge. I replaced the new battery and no click and motor did not turn over. Changed the solenoid , but when came time to connect the battery , battery got big time sparks when trying to connect neg wire.

I am a new comer to this and not much of a mecanic, went on google to see possible issues. I this connected all other wires except positive to solenoid and the ground still getting sparks.

Need some assistance and guidance .

Much appreciated and looking to learn much from all of you.

I do not know that tractor as such but if it uses the Ford style solenoid like a lot of tractors do you may have the battery and starter side backwards and if you do it will do that or you got one form TSC and got a bad made in China solenoid and then who knows if it will work and if it does for how long. Or you may have gotten one made for a car or truck and those do not work on tractor unless they have been rewired for on of them

+ or - ground make no difference when it comes to starter or solenoids they work the correct way either way

Thanks for the information, so seems that had positive on wrong connector on the selonoid. As when switch it around and connected battery no sparks.

However, I am now back to my original issue , when turning the key to clicking, no turning, no nothing. Any thoughts?

Here i thought , i would just change the battery and all wold be good
