Pinion Seals

should i put 2 new seals per side on the pinion behind the brake bands? The new ones i purchased are not near wide as the old ones. I have an M 1952 that im replacing the seals on. Any help would be appreciated. Duane

You can.

You can put one facing in, one facing out, grease in between. The one facing out will help protect the inner one.

But... If you can find wide seals, they are more forgiving. The wider the seal the more flex it has, tends to last longer, forgiving of runout or bearing play.
