I've previously posted about getting this thing running and with some tips from you guys I got it to run. Now the problem is the hydraulic system. The pump seems to be spinning but nothing worked. It looks like there's fluid in the tank but it has no On it so I'm assuming that it is going to need swapped out and flushed.

I have no knowledge of the hydraulic system for this machine so any tips or guidance would be appreciated.

I would not run it till I knew for sure it has hyd fluid in the tank NOT water. No cap equals water and if that is so you can/will burn up the hyd pump real fast

If the tank is contaminated with water, and who knows what, there may already be pump damage.

That is probably a gear pump, tough pumps but can't stand foreign objects in the gears! If it ingested something, it may have sheared the drive key or twisted the shaft.

If the tank is contaminated, be a good idea to remove and clean all the lines, especially the suction line. You don't want anything getting drawn into the pump but clean oil. Once cleaned up and running, you should see oil returning to the tank. If no return, the pump is not turning or not priming.

Is this one with the hydraulic tank in the loader frame or is this just a plain backhoe? Does it have a front of the engine crankshaft driven hydraulic pump? Do you have e-mail or a phone number?
