starting problem

My Ford 9N runs good after it finally starts, but usually it will fire once and then the starter 'spins' out and it will not continue firing. Sounds like a carb issue? Any ideas?

That can be caused by a number of things.

Timing a bit off.
Weak or arctic spark. You need a good blue white spark that will jump a 1/4 inch gap at all plug wires.
And yes you also may have a carb problem or even a spark plug problem
Now days I use NGK3112 plugs because both the champs and auto lite plugs are not what they once where and foul out pretty easy
